Voronoi Papillon Dog Sculpture

Its name is French for “butterfly” – and rightly so. The Papillon is a small, cheerful and very clever dog, and its most recognisable feature is the large, fringed, wide-spread ears. They are the star of this sculpture: rendered in openwork mesh in black and tan, they genuinely look like wings. The little face is tricolour – a white stripe down the middle, black and tan patches around the eyes.

The body is snow white and fully latticed; the dog stands upright on slender legs, its plumed tail arching over the back. Thanks to the open cells the figure looks almost weightless and casts soft shadows on the shelf. Lovely on a dressing table, a desk or in a display cabinet, and a gift sure to delight anyone fond of small breeds.
