TPU for 3D printing — rubber-like, flexible material for seals, dampers, tyres and belts. 95A hardness, resistant to bending and wear.

3D printing with TPU — flexible parts

TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) is the "rubber" of 3D printing. At about 95A hardness it bends, springs back and does not break — ideal for parts that would break in any other material or could not be made at all.

When TPU: seals and O-rings, damping pads, tyres for RC models and robots, protectors, belts, phone cases, parts with constant flexing.

Specifics: printing is slow and demands experience — the filament is soft and "chokes" the nozzle at high speeds. The result is unique though: an elastic, custom part in hours instead of weeks of sourcing.

How flexible is TPU?

At 95A — like a firm rubber: it bends but does not stretch like silicone. For softer applications we build with thinner walls.

Can TPU be used for loaded parts?

Yes, under compression and impact it is excellent. For heavy structural loads (a beam, a bracket) we use rigid materials.
