Skull in Thorny Foliage Relief Sculpture

It looks as if someone has parted a thicket in a forgotten garden and found a skull beneath. Turned slightly to the side, with a half-open jaw and cracks across the crown, it sits within an unbroken whirl of jagged leaves, thorny stems and curling tendrils reminiscent of gothic woodcarving. Small buds and seed pods add to the sense of living yet sinister vegetation. The dark grey matte PLA gives a stone-like effect, and the many layers of foliage form deep shadows that lend the panel dramatic depth.
