Gargoyle Awakening Relief Wall Sculpture

Cathedral guardians don't sleep forever. This gargoyle has just awoken: its chest and arms have already emerged from the slab, while bat-like wings tipped with sharp spines spread above its shoulders. The face is elongated and predatory with deep-set eyes, ribs and tendons show beneath the skin, and the lower body still dissolves into organic forms as if tearing free from the stone. The rough, broken edges of the base complete the feel of an ancient facade.
