Entangled Goddess Relief Wall Sculpture

The goddess's calm, slightly pensive face is covered with fine tattoos across the forehead and cheeks, while her long locks tangle with sharp, gnarled twigs like a living crown of thorns. Beneath her chin rests a skull engraved with ornaments, a contrast of life and decay that lends the relief an almost ritual mood. The left edge of the base is deliberately broken, as if the image were crumbling from an ancient wall, so it reads like a carved stone bas-relief.
