Wailing Tree Relief Wall Sculpture

A tree that weeps with human voices. Trunks and branches twist as if caught in a whirlwind, and from them emerge faces frozen mid-scream – one large face at the centre and several smaller ones around it. Below, a bony hand pushes outward as though trying to tear itself free from the bark. Leaves, pine cones and a blossom grow along the edges, making the contrast even more unsettling. Side lighting casts deep shadows into the open mouths and between the tangled branches.
