Stonebound Skull Relief Wall Sculpture

It looks as if someone cleared away the rock and found something that should have stayed buried. The skull is turned slightly aside, jaw open and eye sockets empty, while sinews and roots trail down beneath it, binding it into the stone. Cracks, rubble and a smaller skull in the lower left corner surround it. The jagged edge of the base adds to the feel of a slab torn from a cliff. Light gathers on the brow and cheekbones, leaving the eyes in deep shadow.
