Nutcracker Vase

The classic Christmas soldier turned vase: a tall black hat with gold zigzags and a snowflake, pink cheeks, a bushy black moustache, white curls at the sides and a red coat with gold buttons. The hat is the opening, and it can hold twigs, dried flowers or pens.

It is printed on a 3D printer from PLA, a biodegradable plastic made from corn starch, in Stara Zagora. Available in five heights from 15 to 35 cm at 1 EUR per centimetre, made to order within 5 working days. Multicolour printing is more complex, but the result looks like a wooden toy. It suits the Christmas table, a bookshelf, or a gift for ballet lovers.

• For dried or artificial flowers, pens and brushes; for fresh ones, use a glass insert
• Care: no direct sun or heat above 50 C, wipe with a damp cloth
