Description

This piece is not for the faint-hearted. A skull with a half-open jaw protrudes from the centre of the panel, thin strands of tissue still hanging from it and dripping toward the neck like wax. The head is framed by an oval halo of intertwined sinews, vertebrae and growths, a sinister crown of sorts, while the background carries a fine rippling texture. The depth is considerable, so under directional light the eye sockets and folds sink into deep darkness.
